How To Conquer A Stressful Day

The first advice I'd give anyone who's got a busy day/week ahead of them is to mentally prepare themselves and what I mean by that is, develop a can-do attitude but keep in mind that not every day will turn out the way we want it to.

It can still be a beautiful day even when nothing goes our way, it's just a matter of perspective and strength of character.

Here's what works for me:

TO-DO LISTS

Yes, I am that person that walks into work, sits at her desk and writes everything she needs to accomplish on a notepad. This helps to UN-clutter my mind and takes away any worry I might have of forgetting to do something. This is especially rewarding at the end of the day when you can physically see everything you got done. So start off your busy day clear-minded by writing out a to do list.

ONE THING AT A TIME

So now that you've got your tasks written down, prioritize and focus on one thing at a time. Sometimes the most stressful thing about a busy day is random tasks being thrown at you, am I right?! Yes, life happens and sometimes it causes us to have to switch our attention over to something we didn't plan for. BREATHE. And get it done. Don't sit there dwelling on it because the longer you think about it, the worse you'll feel.

DON'T FORGET TO EAT

Yes, really. Some days we get so caught up in work that we don't even notice the time going by. Even if you have to eat at your desk, eating throughout the day keeps you energized and focused.

TAKE BREAKS

I hate to break it to you busy-bodies, but we weren't created with the ability to work hard 24/7. We all need a break here and there in order to be the best we can be. Listen to your body, if you're feeling overwhelmed, take a minute to yourself, recharge and refocus. Your body will thank you in the long run!
